It’s pretty obvious I have a love for lipsticks. I’ll choose a bold lip color over shadows any day. I blame the Houston climate. Right now my obsession is that of matte lipsticks. There are a variety of lipstick finishes and knowing the difference will help you determine the best look for you. 

Matte: (My FAVORITE) matte finishes are almost always an all day event. You can apply them in the morning and they will last all day. From coffee to cocktails. They are completely flat in color. Meaning, the color in the tube is typically the color that will show on your lips. The darker colors (red, burgundy, brighter pinks) may stain your lips so using coconut oil to remove all traces of color may be your best option. ✨ Bonus✨ the coconut oil conditions your lips at the same time.   

 Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip (6.00) definitely more bang for your buck. 

Satin/Cream: satin and cream finishes are the most versatile of the bunch. They give you a lasting color with medium coverage and hydrate your lips at the same time. Two applications may be necessary in some cases to give you full color. These are good for everyday wear. 

  
MAC Cosmetics: Brave Satin Lipstick (17.oo)

Frosts: Frost have reflective minerals in them that give off an iridescent look. That “shimmer” look. This finish is not wear friendly for all complexions. They may not appear presentable to darker skin complexions so please wear with caution.

Sheers: I love this finish for the summer. It gives just a hint of color and are less tacky in feel as opposed to a gloss.
